If someone offered you a light and airy West Village rental apartment with two full bedrooms for only $2000 a month, you’d take it a second, right? I mean, that’s about $1500 less than the average price for a two-bedroom West Village rental apartment! How could you resist the ultimate prize, one of those rare [...]

Over the years we’ve heard the story countless times: a young couple or new-in-town professional answers an ad (it used to be on a flyer, posted on the street; now Craigslist and the like are the preferred trolling grounds), get shown a NYC rental apartment by a broker, love the place, hand over a security [...]
If you’re planning on moving to NYC for the first time this fall, or even if you’re a veteran New Yorker relocating just a neighborhood or two away–or even a block or two away–you may want to check out the Urban Edge Moving Guide and Resources. It’s a fairly exhaustive (but never exhausting) look at [...]
UrbanEdgeNY is ready for Hurricane Irene, which is apparently bearing down on New York City as we speak (or not…). Even if the eye of the hurricane misses Manhattan, everyone in the five boroughs is going to get drenched. Here at UrbanEdgeNY, we’re taking a break from no-fee apartment rental searching, battening down the hatches, [...]
We’ve been seeing statistics and charts all summer here at Urban Edge about how finding and signing a New York City rental apartment has become more and more a landlord-friendly undertaking. Manhattan rents are up, vacancies are down, and owners aren’t nearly as ready to hand out concessions as they were as recently as a [...]
What is Urban Edge?
Urban Edge is a FREE no fee apartment website. Apartments for rent are listed by the owners, property managers, and leasing agents. Many of them connect their database directly to ours, so you're not looking at listings that have already been rented.
Here's what you WON'T find: bait and switch ads, brokers pretending to be owners, the same apartment posted by 20 different agents, and scam postings. How, you ask, do we do that?
This is how: no one posts an apartment for rent without their account first being approved by our top notch staff, trained to sniff out evil-doers (and brokers charging a fee).
Nabes we cover: Manhattan, Brooklyn, Queens, Bronx, Staten Island, Westchester County, Nassau County, Northern New Jersey (Hudson, Bergen and Essex Counties), and Fairfield County in CT.
