For as long as I can remember, it’s been like this: the city is for renting; the suburbs are for when you want to buy a house. Today, though, all that’s changing, with the rise of suburban apartments.

Whatever you think of the Occupy Wall Street protesters who have taken over Zuccotti Park (formerly Liberty Park Plaza) across from the World Trade Center site and amid many of Manhattan’s most luxurious Financial District rental apartments, one thing seems certain: the Occupy Wall Street demonstration isn’t going anywhere anytime soon.
It’s not something that any NYC rental apartment resident wants to talk about, or even THINK about, but to everyone everywhere’s dismay, the great bedbug comeback of the 21st century seems to not be disappearing on its own anytime soon.
