It seems almost like a spoof, considering that “lack of space” is the most common topic for grumbling about NYC rental apartments, but according to a just-released study by the non-profit Citizens Housing and Planning Council, the problem is real: there’s a severe shortage of rental apartments in New York City for people who can [...]
Monthly Archive: November 2011
Manhattan rental apartment seekers have been keenly watching the news that keeps coming from the Far West Side (aka Hudson Yards), that stretch of real estate including parts of Chelsea and Clinton / Hell’s Kitchen, to the west of 9th Avenue, that developers have had their eyes on of late.
And now, some choice amusements and entertainments for New York City rental apartment seekers: a quick look at my favorite posts from Curbed’s Renters Week 2011. Curbed is always a pleasure–well-informed and informative, lively and amusing–but they really seemed to enjoy their first-ever Renters Week, peppering their usual array of interesting real estate posts with [...]
Kitchen makeover ideas for rentals: can I really decorate my apartment kitchen? This is a follow-up to our recent post on Rental Renovations, this time focusing on kitchen makeovers. Is your apartment (or budget) too small for a home office? Maybe it’s time to try coworking. What is Urban Edge?
Urban Edge is a FREE no fee apartment website. Apartments for rent are listed by the owners, property managers, and leasing agents. Many of them connect their database directly to ours, so you're not looking at listings that have already been rented.
Here's what you WON'T find: bait and switch ads, brokers pretending to be owners, the same apartment posted by 20 different agents, and scam postings. How, you ask, do we do that?
This is how: no one posts an apartment for rent without their account first being approved by our top notch staff, trained to sniff out evil-doers (and brokers charging a fee).
Nabes we cover: Manhattan, Brooklyn, Queens, Bronx, Staten Island, Westchester County, Nassau County, Northern New Jersey (Hudson, Bergen and Essex Counties), and Fairfield County in CT.
