Brooklyn Flea’s Smorgasburg in Dumbo, Excellent Food in a Lovely Setting

0

on Sep 24th, 2012

Do NYC residents really need another weekly food festival? Between the Hester Street Market on the Lower East Side; Mad Sq. Eats (just opened in the shadow of the Flatiron for a month-long run until October 19); Urbanspace Meatpacking under the High Line; and, of course, the various enterprises from the folks that started it [...]

The New Sullivan Street Bakery is Every Bit as Awesome as You’d Expect

Some four years ago master baker Jim Lahey brought first-rate pizzas (and pretty decent salads) to an otherwise nondescript stretch of Ninth Avenue in Chelsea with the always fun and satisfying Co., which you should pronounce in its unabbreviated form as “Company”, because Co. always just sounds kind of odd when you say it and [...]

Imagining the Lowline, a Demonstation of the Underground Park that could Transform the Lower East Side

on Sep 17th, 2012

For the next two weeks, in an abandoned warehouse on Delancey Street, residents of the Lower East Side can get a glimpse of (fingers crossed!) the future. That’s because the folks behind the wildly ambitious dream to create an underground public park in an ancient trolley station–complete with trees, greenery, and actual “piped in” sunlight–are [...]

The Curbed “Brokerbabble” Glossary: An Appreciation

on Sep 15th, 2012

My fondness for the real estate site Curbed is no secret, not only because, for me, it’s the easiest, more entertaining way to get an constantly updated overview of the constantly changing NYC rental apartment scene, but also, as a resident of a NYC rental apartment, I love Curbed’s coverage of all sorts of neighborhood [...]

  • What is Urban Edge?

Urban Edge is a FREE no fee apartment website. Apartments for rent are listed by the owners, property managers, and leasing agents. Many of them connect their database directly to ours, so you're not looking at listings that have already been rented.

Here's what you WON'T find: bait and switch ads, brokers pretending to be owners, the same apartment posted by 20 different agents, and scam postings. How, you ask, do we do that?

This is how: no one posts an apartment for rent without their account first being approved by our top notch staff, trained to sniff out evil-doers (and brokers charging a fee).

Nabes we cover: Manhattan, Brooklyn, Queens, Bronx, Staten Island, Westchester County, Nassau County, Northern New Jersey (Hudson, Bergen and Essex Counties), and Fairfield County in CT.
