Krescendo: Another Excellent Place for Pizza in Brooklyn

0

on Feb 28th, 2013

Elizabeth Faulkner has done well at the TV chef-lebrity thing, appearing as both contestant and judge in programs such as Top Chef Masters and Iron Chef America, as well as popping up in many other similar shows from the world of Reality Cooking TV. Faulkner also had a good run in her native San Francisco, [...]

ABODE at Old Bowery Station: “Secret” Dinner Parties in the Lower East Side

0

on Feb 28th, 2013

Here’s something different, and definitely a fun (though not cheap) date-night activity: the pop-up dinner parties/restaurant at the Old Bowery Station, of which ABODE is one that I had a chance to partake in recently. The place, a long-abandoned subway entrance (technically: an “easement”), is part of the Openhouse family of downtown event spaces, which [...]

State of the Block 2013: an Up-Close-and-Personal Look at Living in NYC Today

on Feb 27th, 2013

One of the interesting dynamics of living in New York City is the way we constantly switch between identifying with our macro- and micro-communities. For example, because of our excellent subway system (don’t let the complainers and the haters fool you: it is among the best, if not the best, on the planet), almost all [...]

Cold Castle at Family Business: Can a Building’s Worth of Artists fit into the Smallest Gallery in Chelsea?

0

on Feb 25th, 2013

Art-lovers from all over town may be excused for being a little confused by the Family Business gallery on West 21st Street in Chelsea. For one thing, it’s tiny. Like, smaller than any room in your home, including that half-bath off the front hall (if you have one of those). I mean, yes, the ceilings [...]

The Public Private at Parsons, a Smart, Lively Exhibition in the Union Square Area

on Feb 20th, 2013

Living in the Union Square area is appealing for many reasons, of course. There’s the dozens of first-rate restaurants and bars, suitable for all occasions, from acclaimed high-end spotsĀ  such as Gotham Bar and Grill and Union Square Cafe to excellent cheap eat joints like Dos Toros and Num Pang. Union Square residents have [...]

  • What is Urban Edge?

Urban Edge is a FREE no fee apartment website. Apartments for rent are listed by the owners, property managers, and leasing agents. Many of them connect their database directly to ours, so you're not looking at listings that have already been rented.

Here's what you WON'T find: bait and switch ads, brokers pretending to be owners, the same apartment posted by 20 different agents, and scam postings. How, you ask, do we do that?

This is how: no one posts an apartment for rent without their account first being approved by our top notch staff, trained to sniff out evil-doers (and brokers charging a fee).

Nabes we cover: Manhattan, Brooklyn, Queens, Bronx, Staten Island, Westchester County, Nassau County, Northern New Jersey (Hudson, Bergen and Essex Counties), and Fairfield County in CT.
