Looking for cheap apartments in Queens? First, what is your definition of cheap? If you’re coming from another part of the country, the rent in Queens may not seem inexpensive at first. However, in comparison to Manhattan and parts of Brooklyn, much (thought not necessarily all) of Queens presents an opportunity to find a relative [...]

“Downtown” NYC apartments actually span a number of neighborhoods, from the Village (West Village, Greenwich Village, East Village) all the way down to FiDi. Basically, anything below 14th Street is considered downtown.
If you want to avoid a series of (escalating) problems, it’s important that you pay your rent on time. Every month. First and foremost, the lease you signed is a legally binding contract. That, in and of itself, should be reason enough. However, if for some reason you feel like you need an additional incentive…

A couple of different posts recently on two of my favorite real estate websites–namely, Curbed and Brick Underground–reminded me how difficult, even discouraging, the process of finding that perfect new home can seem when approached from afar, but also how it all usually works out for the vast majority of NYC rental apartment seekers.
What is Urban Edge?
Urban Edge is a FREE no fee apartment website. Apartments for rent are listed by the owners, property managers, and leasing agents. Many of them connect their database directly to ours, so you're not looking at listings that have already been rented.
Here's what you WON'T find: bait and switch ads, brokers pretending to be owners, the same apartment posted by 20 different agents, and scam postings. How, you ask, do we do that?
This is how: no one posts an apartment for rent without their account first being approved by our top notch staff, trained to sniff out evil-doers (and brokers charging a fee).
Nabes we cover: Manhattan, Brooklyn, Queens, Bronx, Staten Island, Westchester County, Nassau County, Northern New Jersey (Hudson, Bergen and Essex Counties), and Fairfield County in CT.
