At first glance it seemed like one of those silly, obvious-trend pieces for which the New York Times has become increasingly famous. Basically: New York City is loud (and the NY Times is ON IT). But you know what? The city IS loud. And despite some noteworthy aural improvements, quality-of-life-wise (remember when everyone first got [...]
The Bruce High Quality Foundation is an anonymous collective–all members seem to be named Bruce, coincidentally–with a made-up past (their fictitious founder, Bruce High Quality, died on the attacks of September 11) and a mischievous sense of humor about creating public art spectacles. Their extremely loose, populist contemporary art survey The Brucennial, on display every [...]
Dinosaur Bar-B-Que routinely finds its way onto a fair number of Best NYC BBQ lists, but though the massive Harlem restaurant has been open since 2005, tales of long lines and epic waits always kept me away. The Dino BBQ family keeps growing however, so when a new outpost opened on a semi-sleepy stretch of [...]
I am a Founding Member of NYC’s massively ambitious and, so far, hugely successful bike share program, which basically just means that I plunked down my $95 for an annual membership the first day it became available. My first trip on a Citi Bike–Citibank kicked in $41 million to have their logo plastered all over [...]
Phone battery dead (again)? Need a quick 10% (or more) to send those texts/read those emails/browse those tumblrs? This summer, if you’re in one of a dozen NYC parks located in all five boroughs, the excellent new Street Charge stations have got you covered. What is Urban Edge?
Urban Edge is a FREE no fee apartment website. Apartments for rent are listed by the owners, property managers, and leasing agents. Many of them connect their database directly to ours, so you're not looking at listings that have already been rented.
Here's what you WON'T find: bait and switch ads, brokers pretending to be owners, the same apartment posted by 20 different agents, and scam postings. How, you ask, do we do that?
This is how: no one posts an apartment for rent without their account first being approved by our top notch staff, trained to sniff out evil-doers (and brokers charging a fee).
Nabes we cover: Manhattan, Brooklyn, Queens, Bronx, Staten Island, Westchester County, Nassau County, Northern New Jersey (Hudson, Bergen and Essex Counties), and Fairfield County in CT.
