The Exploded Mind of Mulholland Hwang, now at Bergen Street’s essential Invisible Dog Art Center

0

on Apr 2nd, 2013

The Invisible Dog Art Center is a true South Brooklyn treasure, a friendly neighborhood art gallery and cultural event space situated right in the sweet spot among the communities of Cobble Hill, Boerum Hill, Brooklyn Heights, Carroll Gardens, and Downtown Brooklyn. Opened in the fall of 2009 (and thus reversing the usual NYC neighborhood chronology [...]

The Future of Brooklyn Bridge Park

0

on Aug 9th, 2012

In the past few years residents of Brooklyn apartments (and brownstones) in DUMBO, Brooklyn Heights, and Cobble Hill have seen–and will continue to see–an enormous transformation along the waterfront in that neck of the borough. And what a (mostly) excellent transformation it’s been so far!

Pok Pok NY: Portland’s Andy Ricker Brings his Thai Food Magic to Brooklyn

0

on Apr 24th, 2012

Pok Pok NY would be the ideal neighborhood spot for residents of Brooklyn rental apartments in the Columbia Street Waterfront District area, and in Cobble Hill, and in Carroll Gardens–this is a fun place, friendly, reasonably priced, and really, truly, crazy-delicious–except that it seems like the whole of Brooklyn and a big chunk of Manhattan [...]

Hot Neighborhoods in Brooklyn

0

on Apr 6th, 2012

Like to find a nice no-fee rental apartment in a hot neighborhood in Brooklyn? You’re not alone. Silly trend pieces (“Freegan Food Co-ops now a thing!” “Man-buns take over Williamsburg!”) and pockets of too-self-congratulatory residents aside, Brooklyn rental apartments, both to the north (e.g., Williamsburg) and the south (Park Slope, Carroll Gardens, et al) continue [...]

Governors Island Getting $300 Million “Facelift” This Summer

0

on Mar 2nd, 2012

Governors Island is one of New York City’s great treasures, and during the summer it becomes one of my favorite parks in town, with a full schedule of festivals, concerts, and off-beat art exhibitions as well as plenty of space in which to walk or bike or picnic or play or read or doze or [...]

  • What is Urban Edge?

Urban Edge is a FREE no fee apartment website. Apartments for rent are listed by the owners, property managers, and leasing agents. Many of them connect their database directly to ours, so you're not looking at listings that have already been rented.

Here's what you WON'T find: bait and switch ads, brokers pretending to be owners, the same apartment posted by 20 different agents, and scam postings. How, you ask, do we do that?

This is how: no one posts an apartment for rent without their account first being approved by our top notch staff, trained to sniff out evil-doers (and brokers charging a fee).

Nabes we cover: Manhattan, Brooklyn, Queens, Bronx, Staten Island, Westchester County, Nassau County, Northern New Jersey (Hudson, Bergen and Essex Counties), and Fairfield County in CT.
