Another month, another record for Manhattan rental apartments, and not in a good way for would-be Manhattan renters. Because although the average Manhattan rent in May only went up by an insignificant-sounding nine dollars, that does mean that the average Manhattan rental apartment now goes for an astonishing $3,438 a month.
Governors Island is one of New York City’s great treasures, and during the summer it becomes one of my favorite parks in town, with a full schedule of festivals, concerts, and off-beat art exhibitions as well as plenty of space in which to walk or bike or picnic or play or read or doze or [...]
Brooklyn new development: a building boom is underway that is transforming some neighborhoods. So if you’re interested in a brand new Brooklyn rental apartment, either today or sometime in the next, oh, three years… you’re in luck!
One of the best things to happen to this town in the past couple of decades has been the (for the most part) thoughtful, democratic and welcoming development of New York City’s long-neglected waterfront.
New York City real estate groupies never tire of inventing new Manhattan neighborhoods (and to a lesser extent in the outerboroughs) whenever a few blocks of an existing community start to take on a new character, no matter how long or firmly the area has already been established in the city’s collective conscious.
What is Urban Edge?
Urban Edge is a FREE no fee apartment website. Apartments for rent are listed by the owners, property managers, and leasing agents. Many of them connect their database directly to ours, so you're not looking at listings that have already been rented.
Here's what you WON'T find: bait and switch ads, brokers pretending to be owners, the same apartment posted by 20 different agents, and scam postings. How, you ask, do we do that?
This is how: no one posts an apartment for rent without their account first being approved by our top notch staff, trained to sniff out evil-doers (and brokers charging a fee).
Nabes we cover: Manhattan, Brooklyn, Queens, Bronx, Staten Island, Westchester County, Nassau County, Northern New Jersey (Hudson, Bergen and Essex Counties), and Fairfield County in CT.
