The Great Stumptown Coffee Roasters Opens a Pretty Corner Cafe on West 8th Street

0

on Jun 17th, 2013

The heart of historic Greenwich Village finally gets the world-class coffee shop it deserves. True, there’s no shortage of fine caffeine-fueled establishments both to the east and west (and north and south; NYC has truly become a great coffee town), a long list that would include Joe the Art of Coffee, Prodigy, Everyman Espresso, Roasting [...]

Chef Alex Stupak’s Empellon Cocina: Go for the Guacamole, and More!

on Jun 10th, 2013

Fact: New Yorkers love to be right about things, and we’re maybe especially passionate about where you can get the best ________. It doesn’t really matter what fills in the blank. Martini, everything bagel, grandma slice, salad bar, cheeseburger, paella, cappuccino, chocolate chip cookie… the list of argument-inciters is almost literally endless. And that’s just [...]

Peter Pan Donuts–is Greenpoint’s Best Restaurant Really a Donut Shop?

0

on Jun 3rd, 2013

Living in Greenpoint has recently become a whole lot more restaurant-y. Just in the past month three new hype-worthy spots have opened up down around Transmitter Park (now with an awesome new pier!), including Alameda, a terrific-looking bar on Franklin Street, with food via a couple of Brooklyn Star vets; River Styx, on Greenpoint Avenue, [...]

Fried Chicken Face-off in Williamsburg, Brooklyn: Pies ‘n Thighs VS. Sweet Chick

on May 31st, 2013

Is fried chicken the perfect food? It’s fast and cheap. It’s fun to eat, familiar and satisfying. Lots of people make it well. And it usually comes with excellent sides. So: possibly perfect? Either way, there has been an explosion of southern-style joints opening all over this great city of late, so I decided to [...]

Num Pang: an Appreciation of the Sandwich Geniuses, Now in Four Locations!

0

on May 25th, 2013

It’s been more than four years since the first Num Pang opened its rather ramshackle sandwich spot near Union Square, introducing most of us the wonders of Cambodian street food. Sure, we’d all been wolfing down Vietnamese sandwiches for awhile–this was the height of Bahn Mi craze–but Num Pang offered a remarkable variety of explosively [...]

  • What is Urban Edge?

Urban Edge is a FREE no fee apartment website. Apartments for rent are listed by the owners, property managers, and leasing agents. Many of them connect their database directly to ours, so you're not looking at listings that have already been rented.

Here's what you WON'T find: bait and switch ads, brokers pretending to be owners, the same apartment posted by 20 different agents, and scam postings. How, you ask, do we do that?

This is how: no one posts an apartment for rent without their account first being approved by our top notch staff, trained to sniff out evil-doers (and brokers charging a fee).

Nabes we cover: Manhattan, Brooklyn, Queens, Bronx, Staten Island, Westchester County, Nassau County, Northern New Jersey (Hudson, Bergen and Essex Counties), and Fairfield County in CT.
