Battery Park City: After 40 Years, Development is Complete

0

on Sep 2nd, 2011

I remember the first time I went to Battery Park City. It was back in the late 1980s, and I was visiting a friend who had just moved into one of those earliest rental apartments to go on the market, and the whole place seemed a million miles away, like some suburban neighborhood had been [...]

New Williamsburg Apartments for Rent: Summer 2011 Update

0

on Aug 19th, 2011

Will Brooklyn’s Williamsburg ever going to stop getting so much attention? Uh, probably not. Because as long as this dynamic neighborhood keeps changing, and people keep opening interesting new restaurants and stores and movie theaters and galleries, and especially, if people keep building new Williamsburg apartments, we are going to keep talking about it. A [...]

Tallest Residential Building in NYC: The Competition Heats Up

0

on Aug 10th, 2011

Plans are moving forward for at least three huge new towers in Midtown, all competing for the title of the tallest residential building in NYC. This is just one sign that new development and construction in NYC is slowly picking up again. The numbers are still high for so-called stalled NYC construction projects–demolition and/or development [...]

Gowanus, Brooklyn: Small Scale Development

0

on Aug 8th, 2011

It wasn’t so long ago that the Brooklyn neighborhood of Gowanus had many of New York City’s (and the country’s) biggest developers chomping at the bit, throwing money around, planning huge residential projects that would transform the area’s post-industrial landscape. No small scale development in sight, these were big plans.

Lower Manhattan: Nearly a Decade after 9/11, a Growing and Vibrant Community

Manhattan rental apartments throughout Lower Manhattan have, over the last five years or so, steadily become some of the most attractive properties in the entire city… and not just as pied-a-terres for bankers, either. Families, creative types, and professionals of all sorts have been flocking to the Financial District (FiDi) of late, enticed not only [...]

  • What is Urban Edge?

Urban Edge is a FREE no fee apartment website. Apartments for rent are listed by the owners, property managers, and leasing agents. Many of them connect their database directly to ours, so you're not looking at listings that have already been rented.

Here's what you WON'T find: bait and switch ads, brokers pretending to be owners, the same apartment posted by 20 different agents, and scam postings. How, you ask, do we do that?

This is how: no one posts an apartment for rent without their account first being approved by our top notch staff, trained to sniff out evil-doers (and brokers charging a fee).

Nabes we cover: Manhattan, Brooklyn, Queens, Bronx, Staten Island, Westchester County, Nassau County, Northern New Jersey (Hudson, Bergen and Essex Counties), and Fairfield County in CT.
