One of the interesting dynamics of living in New York City is the way we constantly switch between identifying with our macro- and micro-communities. For example, because of our excellent subway system (don’t let the complainers and the haters fool you: it is among the best, if not the best, on the planet), almost all [...]

Feeling restless? Looking to start an argument with your fellow Brooklyn residents, especially those of the bookish bent, of which there are legions? It’s easy. State with enthusiastic authority that So-and-so Bookstore is the best in the borough. “WHAT?!” will be the reaction. “Sure, So-and-so’s not bad, but SO-AND-SO’s got a much better selection, and [...]
Rarely have I ever witness a neighborhood embrace a restaurant so quickly and with such love as when Top Chef Dale Talde opened up his namesake Talde last winter in Park Slope. Park Slope residents, your neighborhood just got a whole lot more beery. A few weeks ago, in the southern end of Park Slope, right next door to the lovely Greenwood Cemetery, Brooklyn native Ted Mann opened up his 13,000-square-foot, indoor- outdoor-drinking mega-spot, Greenwood Park.

What is Urban Edge?
Urban Edge is a FREE no fee apartment website. Apartments for rent are listed by the owners, property managers, and leasing agents. Many of them connect their database directly to ours, so you're not looking at listings that have already been rented.
Here's what you WON'T find: bait and switch ads, brokers pretending to be owners, the same apartment posted by 20 different agents, and scam postings. How, you ask, do we do that?
This is how: no one posts an apartment for rent without their account first being approved by our top notch staff, trained to sniff out evil-doers (and brokers charging a fee).
Nabes we cover: Manhattan, Brooklyn, Queens, Bronx, Staten Island, Westchester County, Nassau County, Northern New Jersey (Hudson, Bergen and Essex Counties), and Fairfield County in CT.
