MTA Performs a Summertime Miracle, Repairs A Train all the way to Rockaway Beach

on Jun 19th, 2013

Thanks to the nightmare of Sandy last fall, Rockaway Beach, the best subway beach in the city, was in danger of remaining inaccessible by rail all summer. Yes, there’s now the Rockabus option, which provides roundtrip, street-to-sand express bus service from three locations: Williamsburg, the East Village/Lower East Side, and Grand Army Plaza. And I [...]

Imagine for a minute that you’ve found your dream Manhattan rental apartment. And for the purposes of this little thought experiment, say it’s in the one of most coveted, wealthiest neighborhoods in town, Tribeca. And you love your home and you’re just going about your life and then you go to an art exhibition and [...]

NYC Parks and Public Spaces: Are We in a Golden Age? Yes… and No

0

on Jun 12th, 2013

Any long-time NYC resident will tell you that one of the most welcome changes in this great town of ours over the past decade or so has been the widespread revitalization of city’s parks and public plazas. In the 1970s, ’80s, and well into the 90s, even the system’s crown jewels like Central Park were [...]

The ICP Triennial of Contemporary Photography and Video Art is one of this Summer’s Cultural Musts

The International Center of Photography may not get a lot of hype, but they sure know how to put on a good show. Carol Bove Sculptures at the Undeveloped Stretch of the High Line, Now Open for Tours

on May 27th, 2013

The High Line’s great, no question, with its award-winning landscape design, well-curated public art, first-rate food vendors, excellent people watching, and just an overall slightly adventurous feeling of being somewhere a little different than everywhere else. Yes, even now, with the mile-long park non-stop packed with tourists. But what was it like up here on [...]

  • What is Urban Edge?

Urban Edge is a FREE no fee apartment website. Apartments for rent are listed by the owners, property managers, and leasing agents. Many of them connect their database directly to ours, so you're not looking at listings that have already been rented.

Here's what you WON'T find: bait and switch ads, brokers pretending to be owners, the same apartment posted by 20 different agents, and scam postings. How, you ask, do we do that?

This is how: no one posts an apartment for rent without their account first being approved by our top notch staff, trained to sniff out evil-doers (and brokers charging a fee).

Nabes we cover: Manhattan, Brooklyn, Queens, Bronx, Staten Island, Westchester County, Nassau County, Northern New Jersey (Hudson, Bergen and Essex Counties), and Fairfield County in CT.
