I’ve been a big fan of French artist JR for a lot of years now, ever since I first came across his soon-to-be-signature massive photographs of people’s faces wheatpasted onto, first, the bridges of Paris, then favela shacks in Rio (below), then decrepit trains in Nairobi. In 2011, after winning the TED Prize, JR launched [...]

Art dealer David Zwirner is going all in in Chelsea’s world-class gallery district. Zwirner already owns much of the north side of 19th Street over there, with two or three or four (depending on the configuration) different spaces. And then in February Zwirner unveiled his minimalist beauty on 20th Street, a colossal, five-story exhibition and [...]
If ever there was a public-space success story for residents of Brooklyn Heights, Boerum Hill, and DUMBO–and all of us New Yorkers who love awesome things–the development over the past few years of the Brooklyn Bridge Park has to be it. Remember how excited you were last July, when NYC ‘s awesome, ambitious bike share program Citi Bike was scheduled to launch? There were going to be bicycles everywhere! What is Urban Edge?
Urban Edge is a FREE no fee apartment website. Apartments for rent are listed by the owners, property managers, and leasing agents. Many of them connect their database directly to ours, so you're not looking at listings that have already been rented.
Here's what you WON'T find: bait and switch ads, brokers pretending to be owners, the same apartment posted by 20 different agents, and scam postings. How, you ask, do we do that?
This is how: no one posts an apartment for rent without their account first being approved by our top notch staff, trained to sniff out evil-doers (and brokers charging a fee).
Nabes we cover: Manhattan, Brooklyn, Queens, Bronx, Staten Island, Westchester County, Nassau County, Northern New Jersey (Hudson, Bergen and Essex Counties), and Fairfield County in CT.
