Parkchester Apartments

Parkchester is a neighborhood in the Bronx's eastern section, with an enormous apartment complex dominating the area.

Besides the Parkchester complex, there are several multi-family NY apartments that line the borders of the region in low-rise buildings.

Parkchester apartments (the complex) consists of mid-rise, brick buildings organized similar to Stuyvesant Town and Peter Cooper Village in Manhattan.

Living in Parkchester

Parkchester reflects the urban-community vision of LeCorbusier and his "Radiant City". The "towers in the park" concept can be seen in this masterplanned complex, where the sea of cross-shaped buildings surround a particular, central greenspace (in this case the "Metropolitan Oval").

Residents of Parkchester apartments are served by the number 6 train at both the Parkchester Station, as well as the nearby Zerega Ave stop. But Manhattan commuters also have the option to take the BxM6 express bus, which is a 45 minute trip from the Metropolitan Oval to Midtown.

The neighborhood borders can be defined by East Tremont Avenue to the north, White Plains Road to the west, Waterbury Avenue to the south, and Castle Hill Avenue to the east.
