Farmingdale Apartments

NY apartments are available in both the actual, incorporated Village of Farmingdale as well as in several surrounding communities outside the village lines which, though unincorporated, share the same postal address and zip code with the village of Farmingdale proper.

Farmingdale in all of its guises is located within the town of Oyster Bay, Long Island--the only town that extends the entire width of the island, from the Long Island Sound in the north to the Atlantic Ocean in the south--and sits right on the border between Nassau & Suffolk Counties. The unincorporated communities surrounding the Village of Farmingdale include South Farmingdale (also within Oyster Bay), East Farmingdale (which is technically part of the town of Babylon, in Suffolk County), and Bethpage State Park.

The greater Farmingdale area is bordered to the north by the hamlet of Old Bethpage; to the east by the town of Babylon, in Suffolk County; to the south by the hamlet of North Amityville, and to the west by the hamlet of Bethpage.

Long Island Living in Farmingdale

Residents of Farmingdale apartments live in a decidedly suburban part of Oyster Bay, Long Island, and the housing here is dominated by single- and multi-family homes as well as the occasional low-rise residential building and garden apartment complex. The commercial center of Farmingdale is the village's downtown area, with its community-centric Village Green, adjacent to the historic Village Hall and the site of such family-friendly events as family concerts in the summer. Residents of Farmingdale rental apartments may do their big-box shopping elsewhere, but there's no denying the charm and welcoming spirit of the village's Main Street, which is lined with independent shops, neighborhood restaurants and bars. Farmingdale Village was incorporated in the late 1600s, and there is a definite sense of pride in the community's history.

Farmingdale apartments are often sought by commuters, who take advantage of the service on the Long Island Rail Road (and its Farmingdale station), which gets you to Pennsylvania Station in Midtown Manhattan in about 50 minutes during peak times. Residents of Farmingdale are also inclined to take full advantage of the nearby 1,500-acre Bethpage State Park (technically within greater Farmingdale's borders). With its spectacular array of sport and recreation facilities this state park has everything from ball courts, playgrounds, lawns, and tennis courts, all the way to a polo field, bridle paths, cross-country skiing trails, and, most famously, five 18-hole public golf courses, including the world-renowned Bethpage Black Course, which hosted the PGA's US Open tournament in 2002.
