Brooklyn's Cobble Hill is one of New York City's prettiest, most desireable neighborhoods… and, as residents of these NY apartments will tell you, it just keeps getting better.

Bordered on the north by Atlantic Avenue (and Brooklyn Heights),  to the south by Degraw Street (and Carroll Gardens), and to the east and west by Smith Street (and Boerum Hill) and Hicks Street (and the BQE), respectively, Cobble Hill is almost entirely an officially-designated Historic District, and is subject to strict zoning regulations that discourage development.

Cobble Hill apartments are, for the most part, in any number of pretty, well-maintained nineteenth-century Italianate style brownstones and brick row houses, most of which have been internally renovated to include all of the expected modern amenities. Cobble Hill has a history that continues to resonate not only by the continued presence of long-term residents, but also with the plethora of family-run Italian meat and food markets and old-time barber shops on Smith and Court Streets. For commuters, Cobble Hill is easily accessible to Manhattan via the F train, just a few stops to Downtown Manhattan, and then a few more to Midtown.  

Food & Recreation Around Cobble Hill

Cobble Hill Park—or Verandah Park, as it's better known by the locals—offers a nice little neighborhood enclave. Revamped in the late 1989 with an award-wining, European-style design, the park features a lawn for relaxing and sunning, a small playground, lots of benches and picnic tables, and the park is able to accomodate community events like summer concerts and the area's Halloween parade.

If you like to eat, or hang out with friends deep into the night, Cobble Hill's energetic food and nightlife scene will definitely appeal.  Smith Street, in fact, has been called Brooklyn's "restaurant row", and includes such favorites as the "modern rustic" dishes at Chestnut,  the French bistro fare at Bar Tabac, the go-to brunch at Café Luluc, and the Italian influenced menu at Lunetta.
