Columbia Street Waterfront District Apartments in Brooklyn

    Columbia Street Waterfront District

The Columbia Street Waterfront district is a unique sliver of Brooklyn, located just west of Cobble Hill and Carroll Gardens, and north of Red Hook.

All geographical evidence leads you to believe that this area of Northwestern Brooklyn is just section of these three neighboring communities, when in fact, it is often considered its own entity, and has some very attractive NY apartments.

This neighborhood is located on the East River waterfront, yet there is absolutely no waterfront access from this area. The Brooklyn-Queens Expressway slices through the Red Hook peninsula, parallel to the River, creating this small region's easterly border. At only two blocks across at its widest point, this is neighborhood sure is narrow.

Living in Columbia Street Waterfront District

Residents of Columbia Street Waterfront District apartments are flanked on both sides by major expressways: The Brooklyn-Battery Tunnel rises from the river just south of this neighborhood, while the Brooklyn Queens Expressway follows (and borders) the community to the east. Although a great location for the automobile commuter, the closest subway station is at least a four block walk from the edge of this district. The most accessible station is off of the F & G trains at Carroll Street Station.
