Cypress Hills Apartments in Brooklyn

    Cypress Hills Apartments

Cypress Hills is a community within East New York, in the southeast corner of Brooklyn. This small community, bordered to the south by Atlantic Avenue (and City Line), to the west by Bushwick, to the north by the huge Cypress Hills Cemetery, and to the east by Queens, and the neighborhoods of Woodhaven and Ozone Park.

Plenty of Options in Cypress Hills

The housing stock of Cypress Hills shows a large range of NY apartments. There are turn-of-the-century rowhouses, for example, some quite lovely and exceptionally well-maintained, usually converted into two- and three-family homes. Homes such as these, on a hill that borders Highland Park, offer fairly spectacular views of Brooklyn and Queens. On some particularly crystalline days you can see as far away as the Rockaways from this area.

Cypress Hills also has an ever-growing supply of newly developed affordable housing, thanks to the Cypress Hills Local Development Corporation, which has converted decrepit city-owned buildings into simple but clean, reasonably-priced NYC condos. More recently, having run out of suitable city housing to convert, the corporation has built contemporary-looking low-rise condo complexes from the ground up.

For commuters to Manhattan or Downtown Brooklyn, Cypress Hills residents enjoy easy access to the A, C, J & Z trains. The 141-acre Highland Park offers the largest expanse of greenery and open space, with playgrounds, playing field and ball courts. The primary commercial strip lies along Fulton Street, though there are plenty of local shops and inexpensive eateries throughout the neighborhood.

Thx for this great information that you are sharing with us!!!

I love this area. I've been living here for about 3 yrs and I couldn't be happier. As far as transportation is concerned it's super easy, all the buses and trains can take you where you need to be, a few cab services i prefer 910 very reliable and affordable. Plenty of restaurants whether it be spanish food, to chinese food, to local fast food spots, you name cypress have it. Great community to raise kids, highland is right up the "hill" :) and it's spectacular. There is so much I can say about this place but you have to live it for yourself. It's a wonderful neighborhood. (very safe, most important)
