Exchange Place apartments are located in the heart of the bustling downtown area of Jersey City, New Jersey's second largest city behind only Newark. Living in Exchange Place

Exchange Place is primarily a commercial area, although there are a few low and high-rise buildings with luxury apartments. While very active during the day, it can be very quiet at night. However, the adjacent Paulus Hook historic district has numerous restaurants, and you are a quick ride on the light rail to Hoboken. Residents love to spend time, day or night, on Exchange Place Pier, which offers breathtaking views of Battery Park City and the Wall Street area of Manhattan.

Apartments in Exchange Place look out over the beautifully redeveloped waterfront, once a transportation hub busy with ferry and shipping terminals (as well as the former Jersey City Penn Station). Now it is a transportation hub of a different kind, with the PATH train, Hudson-Bergen Light Rail, and numerous bus lines all converging.

Other landmarks and highlights for Exchange Place residents include the tallest building in the entire state of New Jersey, the Goldman Sachs Tower; Andrzej Pitynskiu's brilliant if harrowing Katyn Memorial honoring the 22,000 Polish nationals slaughtered by the Soviets in 1940 in Katyn Forest; and the gorgeous old Colgate Clock, facing Battery Park in Manhattan and promoted by Colgate-Palmolive as being the largest clock in the world. Residents of Exchange Place apartments who don't work right nearby in one of the Exchange Place office towers have a simple commute into Manhattan via the PATH train, as well as multiple water taxi and ferry options.

Jersey City Parks Near Exchange Place

The fabulous Hudson River Waterfront Walkway, a series of connecting parks and promenades, perfect for relaxing, biking, jogging or strolling passes along the waterfront of Exchange Place. The walkway, when finished, will extend more than 18 miles from the Bayonne Bridge to the George Washington Bridge, passing through Hoboken, Weehawken and other waterfront communities and offering priceless views of the fabled Manhattan skyline.

Exchange Place residents also enjoy easy access to the 1,200-acre Liberty State Park, built upon landfilled tidal basins right across the Morris Canal and filled with bike paths, broad lawns, playing fields, a nature preserve and, at its northern end, the great Liberty Science Center. And of all of that isn't outdoorsy enough for you, Exchange Place has a somewhat famous family of Peregrine Falcons, which have several nesting sites atop the Mack-Cali building.
