Lincoln Square Apartments

Lincoln Square sits within the larger neighborhood of the Upper West Side, but has such a distinct character that some are beginning to separate it from the larger area.

Lincoln Square apartments can be found starting from the Time Warner Center and The Shops at Columbus Circle (59^th Street & Broadway), up until about 70^th Street where Broadway touches Amsterdam Avenue. This half-mile stretch of the city is bordered by Columbus Avenue at the east, and is a lively neighborhood to look for NY apartments.

Living in Lincoln Square

Lincoln Square has a wealth of outstanding residential buildings for such a small neighborhood. Many Lincoln Square apartments are within extraordinary buildings. This includes The Regent, with its elegant lobby and many amenities; the Dorchester Towers, which boasts spectacular views of Central Park; and the majestic Grand Tier, overlooking Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts.

Much of the public space in the Lincoln Square neighborhood is maintained by the terrific non-profit organization known as the Lincoln Square Business Improvement District, founded and governed by the area's property owners, who in the mid-1990s felt as if not enough city money was being spent on this vital community.

The Lincoln Square BID now boats an almost $2 million annual budget for neighborhood security, beautification, supplemental sanitation (they clean the sidewalks and empty the trash a LOT more frequently than the city could afford to do), as well as for the promotion of local events such as the great holiday tradition, Winter's Eve.

Lincoln Square: Plenty of Dining & Entertainment

Lincoln Square is exploding with great culture, including all the events the recently renovated Lincoln Center has to offer—the New York Philharmonic, the Metropolitan Opera, the New York City Ballet, to name just three of the mainstays—to the neighborhood's two great movie houses, the AMC Lincoln Square, with its 13 screens (including one of only two IMAX theaters in all of New York City) showing the best of Hollywood, and the Lincoln Plaza Cinema, which specializes in indie and foreign films.

The Lincoln Square neighborhood is also loaded with first-rate shopping and dining options, for all tastes and budgets. Some of our favorite restaurants include Bar Boulud, A Voce Columbus, and Landmarc UWS. Central Park is a few blocks away, as are the playing fields and bike/running paths of Riverside Park.
