Queensboro Hill isn't the most well-known neighborhood in Queens, despite its central location within the borough, but its proximity to greenspace is almost unmatchable.

This neighborhood is located on the eastern side of the Van Wyck Expressway, in the strip south of Kissena Corridor Park--and it has quite the mix of housing. You'll find many Queensboro Hill apartments in the area's short, attached rowhouses and duplexes, while many streets are lined with small, single-family homes. This community captures the blend of urban New York with the suburban nature of Queens.

Life in Queensboro Hill

A tour through the neighborhood will quickly bring the "car factor" to attention, as many of the homes sport driveways. But Queensboro Hill's car-friendliness goes even further, as the Van Wyck and Long Island Expressways are easily accessible. Although there are no subway stations directly in the neighborhood, residents of Queensboro Hill apartments can access the number 7 train in Flushing via the Q44 local bus. But if you're looking for a quicker trip to Midtown, you might find it via the Long Island Rail Road, which stops at Flushing Main Street. Taking the commuter train will bring passengers into Penn Station in less than 30 minutes.

As the name suggests, Main Street is the neighborhood's "main street", but unlike other communities, it acts more like a thoroughfare than a downtown strip. But don't get us wrong, there a handful of shops and storefronts along this road (just don't expect the shopping environment of Manhattan's 34th Street). Queensboro Hill has its own branch of the Queens Library near the neighborhood's southern end.

When it comes to recreation, look no further than Queensboro Hill's green neighbors to the north. The belt of parkland extends from Flushing Meadows-Corona Park at the west through Kissena Corridor Park, Kissena Park, and ending at the Kissena Park Golf Course. At 100 acres, Kissena Corridor Park offers it all: basketball courts, cycling paths, playgrounds, tennis courts, baseball fields, and bocce courts. When it comes to neighborhoods with parkspace, Queensboro Hill is hard to match.
