Fair Lawn Apartments

Fair Lawn is a residential community in the central and eastern portion of Bergen County. Among the town's suburban-style homes are several low-rise NJ apartment buildings, many within garden apartment complexes.

Living in Fair Lawn

The town's main thoroughfare is Fair Lawn Avenue, and is home to the Borough Hall, Public Library, and Police Station, among local establishments like bakeries, pizza shops, and a meat store. But the town's main center can be safely defined at the intersection of Fair Lawn Avenue and Plaza Road, where there is plenty of shopping available.

Nearby Fair Lawn's downtown is the Radburn train station serviced by the New Jersey Transit. From this station, it is just under a 30 minute trip, with just another fifteen minutes to Manhattan via the PATH train.

One road is named Wagaraw Road, which is the Lenape term for "low country where the river bends", giving a rather concise description of Fair Lawn's landscape. The Passaic River is that which bends at Fair Lawn's western edge, and eventually evolves into the Paterson falls further west. Residents of the town have access to the town's Memorial Park, situated on the eastern side of the river. This greenspace has almost everything, including a pool, hockey court, soccer field, tennis court, and baseball diamonds.
