Living in the Union City neighborhood of Northern New Jersey

Union City Apartments

Union City is among the most densely populated cities in the United States, and is, understandably, only 1.27 square miles in area. Much of the housing stock in the community consists of detached and semi-detached rowhouses, townhomes, and several low-rise apartment buildings.

This neighborhood is located in Hudson County, New Jersey, just west of Weehawken and south of West New York and North Bergen.

Living in Union City

Union City is notable for its art scene, especially its "Celebrate Art Month" where local artists unite and share their passions. Some performances at this event include jazz, dance, opera, and film showings.

Residents of Union City apartments can travel to Manhattan in a few different options. One involves the Hudson Bergen Light Rail, which allows for easy connections to the PATH train and the New Jersey Transit in Hoboken. Another involves a quick trip on the NY Waterway ferry from Port Imperial to both Midtown and Lower Manhattan. For the commuters who prefer to drive, the Lincoln Tunnel is right next door, providing a direct route into the city.

Bergenline Avenue is Union City's main thoroughfare and commercial strip, providing most of the local establishments needed to run basic errands.
