Arverne Apartments

Situated on the eastern side of the Rockaway Peninsula is the beachside community of Arverne. This Queens neighborhood is located on the spit of land between Beach 56th Street and Beach 73rd Street.

This puts it to the west of Edgemere and to the east of Hammels, with Jamaica Bay to the north and the Atlantic Ocean to the south.

Similar to other Rockaway Peninsula communities, Arverne has a mix of housing stock, from single-family homes, to duplexes, to a few scattered public housing complexes. However, in addition to handful of low-rise buildings with Arverne apartments, there is something for everyone.

Many of the single-family homes are bungalow-style, adding to the beachfront atmosphere. Most of the lots in Arverne are very narrow, only allowing for thin, elongated homes along the side streets. If you're looking for NY apartments near the waterfront, this neighborhood may be a viable option.

Beachside Living in Arverne

Arverne's main thoroughfare is Beach Channel Drive, however the street has little commercial activity. This means that residents of Arverne apartments might need to leave their beachside community to fulfill specific errands.

Like the other Rockaway neighborhoods, Arverne is serviced by the Far Rockaway A-train, which stops at the Beach 67 Street, Beach 60 Street, and Beach 44 Street Stations. Commuters into Manhattan also have the option of taking the QM17 express bus, a trip that takes just under one hour.
