Attached to your lease for a New York City rental apartment may be any number of addendums. Rental lease addendums are as legally valid as any language found the lease proper, and can cover a huge range of topics, from no-smoking clauses to lock-out fees to roommate regulations to laundry room policies, and so should be read thoroughly, and understood completely before you sign your lease. Addendums on NYC rental leases are also sometimes called riders, or appendices.
