Living in the Bloomfield neighborhood of Staten Island

Bloomfield Apartments

Bloomfield is a neighborhood in the northeastern section of Essex County. Situated north of Newark, this community is mainly residential, and is home to a handful of NJ apartments, as well as garden apartment complexes.

Living in Bloomfield

Unlike some more affluent towns around the area, Bloomfield does not have spacious homes on massive lots, yet it still exhibits a suburban atmosphere, and has a quick commute to NYC. Residents of Bloomfield apartments have the option to take the NJ Transit train from the Bloomfield Rail Station directly into Midtown Manhattan's Penn Station in as little as 35 minutes.

If you live in a Bloomfield apartment near the northern end of town, you're probably within a short ride from Brookdale Park, a 43-acre park with recreational facilities and nature abound. In addition to its giant meadows, this park is known for its playgrounds, baseball fields, tennis courts, a running track, a rose garden, and even a stadium with a grandstand.

Bloomfield's history can still be seen in several of its downtown buildings, as well as a few historical structures that have been preserved as a nationally registered Historic Place. Included in this list is the Oakes Estate, located right in town, which was constructed in 1895, and serves as a reminder of the Colonial Revival and Queen Anne architecture styles in vogue during that era.
